GROUNDSKEEPER, Endicott House (part-time, 24 hrs/wk.), to perform day-to-day maintenance of all gardens, grounds, and indoor plant areas.  Will plant, nurture, prune, and make placements in appropriate gardens, grounds, and interior locations; maintain seasonal rotation of plants in the greenhouse; and perform other groundskeeping duties as assigned.  Responsibilities include maintaining pristine appearance of gardens, grounds, and interior locations; maintaining all plants (annual and perennial) in greenhouse; planting seeds/plugs per seasonal planting program; choosing, planting, and pruning historically accurate plants in accordance with landscape preservation maintenance plan; maintaining vegetable gardens, including cold frame garden; seasonal garden and grounds clean up; participating in on-campus plant sales; snow removal as directed; maintaining inventory of plants, seeds, materials, supplies, and equipment; purchasing and maintaining greenhouse supplies and inventories; and handling other gardening tasks as requested.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  a high school diploma, at least three years of relevant experience, experience in garden/greenhouse operations, ability to work independently and in collaborative groups, and basic knowledge of botany plant management.  Seek someone committed to excellence in maintaining a historical property.  Horticultural training preferred.  Job #18435-3

Salary range:  $17.23/hr to low $20s/hr, depending upon experience

Must be able to work a varying schedule.
