Job Description

The Research Specialist B in the Penn Statistics in Imaging and Visualization Center will be responsible for the development of software implementations of methodology developed in the center. The specialist will be in charge of developing and maintaining repositories for code as well as documentation, and the enforcement of reproducibility standards. The programmer will also provide statistical support for various research activities including database management, implementing customized statistical and image processing analyses using existing tools with and without modification, and programming support for methods and tool development activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, biostatistics, or a related quantitative field and one to three years of experience working in software development or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. A solid training in programming and data science, and proficiency in at least one of R, Python, or another scientific computing language. The applicant should have excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to work independently.
