Job Description Summary

The Primary Dental Care Unit Coordinator is responsible for supporting the dental management programs within the Primary Care Unit (PCU), as well as PCU’s Group Leaders and Administrative Directors.

Job Description

This position is responsible for coordination of all program materials, classroom set up, and program websites. The Coordinator will respond to participant questions in advance of programs, welcome groups at registration, give announcements of essential information at the start of program and communicate critical information throughout the week.  He/she will work with program managers and program directors during the planning process and will work with the highest level of professionalism in an independent, self-directed manner.  The PCU Coordinator will:

  • Act as the liaison between patients, students, and the PCU Group Leaders. Schedule patient appointments and manage patient concerns. Manage student's patient appointment books ensuring that the books are full. Track patient treatment, patient status, and patient assignments. Communicate patient status and issues with PCU Leaders.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews with students. Maintain student compliance reports and recall reports, as well as multiple spreadsheets and special projects as assigned. Communicate compliance and patient status with assigned student dentist and PCU Group Leader. Interface with PCU Group Leaders on course of action based upon student clinical experience and patient needs.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Dental experience preferred.  Microsoft, Excel and dental software experience required.  AxiUm software experience preferred.
