Job description
Physician Associates (PA) are playing an increasing role in the expanding NHS work force. To facilitate this training need the UCLan School of Medicine has developed a series of Master’s PA programmes. With increasing demand there is a need for staff to assist in the delivery and development of these courses.
The School therefore wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer to support the Principal Lecturer in the development and delivery of the PG Diploma, and Master’s, in PA studies. The post holder will take a lead in the delivery and evaluation of a range of modules, ensuring a blended-learning approach to meet the needs of PAs in the NHS.
You will be registered with a relevant Medical or PA Professional Body and have a teaching qualification or membership of the HEA.
Experience with teaching Medical undergraduates and/or Physicians Associates is a requirement. You will also need to be familiar with the organisation, planning and delivery of medical educational programmes in a clinical educational environment, up to Masters level. You must possess excellent communication and presentation skills and have strong planning and team management abilities.
Informal enquiries are welcomed - please contact Jane Rutt-Howard, Principal Lecturer of the PA Programme, via email in the first instance jrutt-howard@uclan.ac.uk.
Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston.
