The Faculty of Engineering and Technology seeks to appoint a Data Analyst/Mobile App Programmer to join an exciting project funded by the Department for Transport. This project focuses on identifying potholes by utilising mobile phones and artificial intelligence techniques.

You will develop a prototype mobile app and design a database on cycling behaviours. You will work on data analysis and machine learning models to capture particular cycling patterns. You will join a team including a principal investigator to whom you will report, and two co-investigators who have developed the technologies on which this project will be based.

It is essential that you have demonstrable experience/knowledge in data analytics, sensors for transportation, cloud programming, and relational database. Experience working with data analytics and/or sensors on transport problems will be beneficial. A PhD degree or near PhD completion in a relevant area would also be an advantage but not essential.
