Job Description
Under limited supervision, the Grants Coordinator will support the Grants Managers across multiple divisions within the Department
of Medical Ethics and Health Policy. This role will be responsible for account set-up for Department sponsored research, including
entering budgets, updating the internal account list, creating and maintaining grant folders, and creating fund tracking sheets. They
will assist with maintaining salary grids for sponsored research supported personnel; assist with preparation and submission of
sponsored research progress reports, including NIH RPPRs, and other sponsored project documentation as needed. The Grants
Coordinator will generate and analyze monthly grant reports for the Department, identify incorrect transactions, prepare
documentation necessary for corrections, and enter the correcting journal. They will be responsible for PO creation and tracking of
subcontracts, including but not limited to, invoices, payments and working within the Research Inventory System (RIS). This role
will responsible for reconciliation of ProCard transactions, Greenphire Clincard activity, and ad hoc and pro forma invoicing related
to Way to Health and Veteran’s Administration studies. This role reports to the Grant Manager B and Manager, Admin & Finance
in MEHP, and has a dotted line reporting to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services.
This position is contingent on funding.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and Business Objects preferred. Excellent critical thinking, analytical, verbal and written
- communication is required. Ability to apply solid organizational and time management skills to a deadline driven, multiple priority
- work environment is required. Familiarity with UPENN sponsored research policies and related financial systems is preferred.
- Experience with NIH and other federal granting agencies, and a working knowledge of Uniform Guidance is preferred.
