The Grants Coordinator in Penn Engineering Financial Services (PEFS), will work closely with faculty and will be responsible for the pre-award process, including preparation of budgets and materials in support of the review and submission of sponsored program proposals to sponsors.

Job Description

Working closely with faculty and under limited supervisor, the Grants Coordinator will function as a resource for sponsored program guidelines, policies and procedures; manage within tight deadlines; and coordinate inputs from a variety of proposal participants. Meet with faculty to plan proposal submissions, including solicitation requirements and timing of submissions; manage the process of document review and review of final submission for adherence to sponsor and University policies; advise faculty regarding requirements throughout the process. Create and refine budget requirements in various agency and University formats; provide, to sponsors, pre-award documentation of proposed budgets after submission, based on the proposal documents already developed. Orient and keep up to date on new and varying program solicitations requirements to correctly advise Principle Investigators and other participants of routine and specific requirements; develop and provide documents that are the administrative responsibility of the School or Department, such as current and pending, and University documentation. Manage the communications flow among various proposal participants, across the University and among collaborators at other institutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with pre-award requirements and a working knowledge of grant and contract policies and regulations. Ability to manage deadlines and manage exceptions and last-minute changes.
