The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Portfolio  is responsible for enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, the student experience, internationalisation, indigenous education and employability outcomes.  La Trobe International (LTI) is situated within the portfolio and works in partnership with La Trobe’s Divisions, Colleges and Schools to design, promote and deliver diversity in the choice of global mobility experiences at La Trobe for both inbound (study abroad and exchange) and outbound students. 

We now have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Senior Coordinator, La Trobe Abroad (Study Abroad) to oversees the recruitment and promotional activities across identified study abroad markets.  You will provide advice to prospective students, families, agents and staff of La Trobe University and partner universities and undertake study abroad recruitment activities.  This role is pivotal in maintaining and growing existing markets within identified regions for study abroad students, facilitates negotiation and implementation of study abroad agreements and contributes to load targets and relationship management under the broad direction of the Manager, La Trobe Abroad (LTA) and in conjunction with the Senior International Recruitment Manager. You may be required to assist with exchange program administration for specified regions during peak periods and support the Manager LTA to ensure the pro-active and effective provision of all aspects of the inbound and outbound student mobility programs on all campuses across the University.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position you will have a relevant qualification and experience in the recruitment of international students and the promotion of educational services, preferably within the higher education sector.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills, including well-developed cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication skills especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in small teams.  Highly developed organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage several different projects and multiple stakeholders concurrently are essential.  Knowledge of the ESOS Act and National Code is essential.
