About the role

The John Richards Centre for Rural Ageing Research (JRC) undertakes a program of research into rural ageing and aged care that improves well-being. This part-time position will support national dissemination of the Verily Connect (Virtual Dementia Friendly Rural Communities) project (www.verilyconnect.org.au) and conduct of other related research. Verily Connect was a two-year study supported by an Australian Government Dementia and Aged Care Services grant to trial an innovative approach to supporting people who care for someone living with dementia in a rural community.

The incumbent is also expected to provide administrative research assistance to JRC Director and a senior researcher to assist them with undertaking literature review, data analysis and the key tasks of securing new research grants, responding to tenders and writing peer-reviewed publications.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this position, the incumbent will need to have:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, and evidence of research higher level study relevant to discipline or professional area;
  • Evidence of experience in research and evaluation and the ability to work effectively under limited supervision or independently;
  • Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis and modelling of data;
  • Demonstrated high level of self-motivation, personal management skills, and attention to detail;
  • Hold a valid driving license and willingness to travel
