• Assistant Professor in Social Work

Job Description

Candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the faculty program development, successful candidates will be responsible in duties included: (i) teaching; (ii) supervision and/or coordination of student’s fieldwork in social service organizations and/or supervision on student’s thesis and (iii) facilitate research activity and exchange relevant to the program.

Job Qualifications

• Candidates should either a PhD or Doctorate degree holder in social work/social service management or in related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: management in NGOs/NPOs/Community Organizations, mental health, gerontology, rehabilitation, medical social work, and community development, and/or
• 5 years of prior tertiary teaching experience in college/university is desirable.
• A strong track record in reputable publications.
• Experience in collaborating with the international community is preferable.
• Or professional experience in working at social service organizations in Macau/international community.
• Good command in English and Chinese language is required.

Remuneration

The remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualifications, current position and professional experience. The compensation/benefits are competitive. Currently, the highest marginal personal tax rate in Macao is 12%. But the effective tax rate is around 5% to 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
