 A BBSRC funded post-doctoral position is available in the research group of Dr Sarah Barry from 1st April 2020. The Barry group is multidisciplinary using molecular microbiology, chemistry and biochemistry to investigate and exploit natural product biosynthesis.

This project will focus on characterising novel biosynthetic heme dependent enzymes. The project involves enzyme kinetics, cloning and mutagenesis, chemical synthesis , Xray crystallography.

The successful candidate will join the growing Chemistry Department at King’s College London where they will work within a vibrant multidisciplinary research laboratory. Applicants should have a chemical biology background and have completed a PhD or have submitted a thesis in natural product enzymology, with specific expertise in heme dependent enzymes. 

The candidate should have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and highly organised.  


This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 1 year.

This is a full-time  post
