The University of Wollongong is offering a paid Internship to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student currently studying a UOW undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Journalism or Business. This position sits within the Research Unit of the Faculty of Social Sciences (SOC), and can offer a student 14 hours per week while they undertake their studies. This is a fixed term contract with a length of 2 – 5 years, depending on the duration of the student’s undergraduate course.
This Internship is aimed at a second or third year student who has an interest in research or research translation. The SOC Research Unit are a proactive team who provide support to Faculty researchers and work to create a culture that supports a wide range of academic research at all levels.
The Intern will have the opportunity to work across various units with the Faculty and develop skills in the areas of administration, research and research translation, project management and marketing. Working with their supervisor, a ‘Learning Contract’ will be established at the commencement of each session to ensure duties are aligned to the Intern’s subjects and interest.
