Brief Description

To support the small satellite development activities. To provide high quality research support and undertake internationally competitive research aimed at publication thereby contributing to the academic and research mission of the University. Ability to present research plans and findings in a convincing style, both in oral and written modes of communication.

Detailed Description

Strategic Responsibilities

1. Provide suggestions and recommendations regarding design, analysis, fabrication, integration, verification, and mission operations.
2. Provide leadership to a team of students and research staff over the full mission life cycle of the satellite project

Operational Responsibilities

1. Monitor inventory of equipment and identify procurement requirements
2. Participate in the review meetings on the small satellite projects
3. Supervisory Responsibilities
4. Provide mentoring to student teams

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

• PhD in relevant discipline

Required Experience

Candidates with significant experience in space systems engineering; space mission analysis and design; and satellite development are encouraged to apply. The candidates should have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: system dynamics and control; robotics; integrated systems engineering; space-based communication systems, space instrumentation; space hardware integration, etc.
