Job Description

The Civil Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research assistant in the area of Construction Engineering and Management. The researcher will carry out research on the development of an Artificially Intelligent system that automates construction schedules’ updating process, were data about retrospective construction productivity is continuously captured, ‘machine-learned’, and reflected on forecasting upcoming task productivity rates. Using these continuously refined productivity rates, more realistic activity duration forecasts are approached as a project progresses. Highly motivated applicants with Master degrees in a relevant field are invited to submit their applications to the position. The preferred candidate should have demonstrated experience in construction engineering and management, aside with solid Artificial Intelligence background.

Minimum Qualification

An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following:

• Excellent technical writing skills
• Familiarity with construction management concepts
• Familiarity with computer programming, artificial intelligence, and algorithm design.
• Willingness to learn different techniques and adapt to continuous changes associated with research demands.

Preferred Qualification

Masters in Construction Engineering and Management
