The Global Change Institute (GCI) is a unique institute in Australia, with a mission to draw together expertise from across UQ, industry, government and the community to address grand challenges and build a strong Australia within a competitive global economy. UQ is committed to ensuring the impact of the GCI through investment that seeds transdisciplinary impact research networks to catalyse and broker research and innovation partnerships, and position UQ to be a thought leader in key areas of global change.

As the GCI is evolving to respond to changing external challenges and opportunities to generate substantial benefit to the economy, society and the environment, so is the role of its Director.
