ABOUT THE ROLE

The Marketing and Communications Manager holds responsibility for the overall marketing activities and oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for AMSI.  In an institute that is dependent on marketing innovation for continued growth, the incumbent will have comprehensive knowledge of the higher education landscape, and will develop and drive the strategic marketing plan for the Institute.

The position is a member of the Institute’s Executive and operates with a high level of autonomy under the broad direction of AMSI’s Director.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and a proven track record in complex brand strategy, delivery of digital marketing in a business to business (B2B) setting and understand B2C campaigns to increase awareness and lead generation. The ideal candidate will also have a thorough understanding of the stakeholder landscape within which AMSI operates and will also be able to support the development of AMSI’s international profile.

The position contributes to the management of the organisation, has a key role in delivering AMSI’s strategies and reports on KPIs to the AMSI Director and Board. The position is also tasked with maximising and leveraging the Institute’s customer relationship management (CRM) system and other innovative marketing systems, policies and procedures to streamline outcomes.

AMSI is based within the Faculty of Science, at the University of Melbourne Parkville Campus. AMSI is a joint venture partnership of 12 universities with membership made up of an additional 18 universities, 5 Government agencies and 5 mathematical and statistical societies.  The University of Melbourne is the lead agent of the joint venture. AMSI aims to maintain the highest and most up to date standards in the area in order to effectively deliver its mission.
