About the Role

The Successful Research Fellow will collaborate with Prof Stephen Hanly, Prof Iain Collings and Dr Philip Whiting, on a project funded by the Australian Research Council on mm-wave mobile broadband communications. The project aims to develop novel resource allocation algorithms and network architectures for future mm-wave wireless communication networks, and fundamentally characterise the practical information carrying capacity.

More information about the project can be obtained from Prof. Hanly or Prof Iain Collings. There is a research plan that will guide the research but there is considerable scope for the Research Fellow to take a leadership role.

The project will include information-theoretic and probabilistic analysis, and practical engineering implementation constraints. The expected outcome will be new cellular architectures and massive MIMO mm-wave beamforming technologies that unlock the spectrum by enabling secure outdoor mobile cellular deployments with wide-spread coverage.
