The Exposure, Epidemiology and Risk (EER) Program in the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health seeks outstanding candidates for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Risk Assessment. This is a tenure-track ladder position with the academic rank reflecting the candidate’s experience and productivity.

We seek candidates with an environmental science/engineering background, demonstrated innovative quantitative/modeling skills, and expertise in the use of risk assessment to improve public health decision making. Qualified individuals may include those with backgrounds in biology, toxicology, genetics, ecology, chemistry, and/or engineering with experience in risk modeling of relationships between emissions, ambient concentrations, and human exposure/intake.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates for this position should hold a PhD, ScD, or MD equivalent doctoral degree, and have a demonstrated record of research accomplishments.

Additional Qualifications

This tenure track position offers outstanding intellectual and physical resources in a collegial and collaborative atmosphere. The candidate will interact with other faculty studying environmental exposure assessment, environmental epidemiology, climate and sustainability, occupational health, and environmental justice. Interactions and collaborations with nearby academic entities such as the Harvard Medical School and affiliated hospitals, Harvard’s Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology are encouraged. The position offers the opportunity to mentor exceptional students and post-doctoral trainees. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent and collaborative extramurally funded research program, and to participate in teaching graduate-level courses.
