The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute) is a joint venture between The University of Melbourne and The Royal Melbourne Hospital, combining research, teaching, public health and reference laboratory services, diagnostic services and clinical care in infectious diseases and immunity. The Doherty Institute is working to support policies for improved control of infectious diseases in the Asia-Pacific region. This work is in partnership with other researchers at the University of Melbourne including the Nossal Institute for Global Health, the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, the Australia National University and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.

We are searching for someone to assist with project coordination and administrative support for collaborative and training activities to be undertaken in Australia and the Region, funded by two closely related projects: Supporting Participatory Evidence generation for Control of Transmissible diseases in our Region Using Modelling (SPECTRUM - NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence) and Supporting Preparedness in the Asia-Pacific Region through Knowledge (SPARK - DFAT Indo-Pacific Centre for Health Security). This role will involve reporting, management of meetings, maintenance of websites and overall support of the operational day-to-day activities of the projects. The incumbent will work collaboratively with staff across the Doherty Institute and its partners to deliver an excellent level of service to support the effective operation of SPECTRUM and SPARK.

To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced project coordinator (ideally in higher education and research) with excellent organisation and administrative skills. You will also have experience in to developing project plans and monitoring of project progress.
