Chair (W3) of Coating Technologies in Electronics
The TU Dresden, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Solid State Electronics, and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft are seeking to fill the position of a
Chair (W3) of Coating Technologies in Electronics to be exercised in conjunction with the post of the Membership in the Board of Directors of the Fraunhofer-Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, FEP in a joint appointment procedure as soon as possible.
The future holder of the position represents one or more of the following areas in research and teaching: Electron beam applications, plasma technologies, modification of technical or biological surfaces, coating technologies for organic electronics, biodegradable electronics, precision coating, and atom layer deposition technologies. The skills for conducting lectures in the English language are required. The duties include participation in academic self-administration.
The chair is associated with the Membership in the Board of Management of the Fraunhofer FEP which encompasses the scientific, technical and entrepreneurial management and development of the Institute within the Fraunhofer model and the Fraunhofer overall strategy.
In your new position, you competently represent the main topics in research and teaching as well as in research and technology management towards research funding and research partners, and further expand the strategic connection between TU Dresden and the Fraunhofer Institute. You can look forward to versatile projects with a high degree of practical relevance and great creative freedom.
You can refer to many years of leadership experience from large, interdisciplinary research groups, experience in strategic planning, acquisition and execution of large-scale national and international research and development projects in various business areas as well as competences for increasing the efficiency of development processes and technology transfer. International work and teaching experience and experience in international projects and science policy networking are beneficial.
Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
