Student Support and Transition provides services, programs and resources that facilitate student support and transition into, through, and out of the university learning environment - fostering student progress, retention and development of the graduate qualities. Student Support & Transition sits within the portfolio of the PVC (Students) who oversees the delivery strategy for support services that improve students’ transition into UOW at all UOW domestic campuses.

The Student Support Advisor assists students to identify inhibitors to study success and a plan of action to maximise their study success and achieve a positive student experience whilst at University. The role assists in the delivery of programs to maximise good mental health of all students and to develop personal resilience and leadership skills students need as University students and graduates.

The Support Advisor (SSA) works collaboratively with the full range of support services at UOW and in the Community, and with multiple stakeholders within the Faculty to assist students to achieve study success. This includes close referral partnerships with the Counselling, Disability Service, and external agencies. The SSA would be a member of the Student Support team co-located in a Facility.
