The International Office of the Directorate of Communications and Recruitment is seeking to fill one of the most senior positions in the Office. The Head of International Recruitment will take full responsibility for the strategies required to maximise international student recruitment. This will require a deep understanding of a number of markets and extensive travel, undertaking activities ranging from exhibitions and other organised events to independent work with local agents and liaison with local partners, both existing and potential.

As a representative of the university, this will require you to be able to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills in dealing with a variety of people (applicants, families, agents, HEI staff at all levels, diplomatic and other governmental staff, etc) and display cultural interest, awareness and sensitivity. The extensive travelling will require that the individual is prepared to work very flexibly often under pressure and be self-reliant in dealing with situations, both planned and unplanned, as they arise.

The overseas work will need to be managed in conjunction with a heavy office workload involving the ability to manage a delegated budget and to manage staff. The assessment of applications, development of market intelligence, strategic planning and liaison with university Schools on international matters relating to the region are also crucial aspects of the role.
