Part-Time, Fixed-Term

The post is for 0.5 FTE for three years and is available immediately.

Computer Science at Royal Holloway is seeking to appoint a 0.5 FTE teaching fellow to support high-quality teaching and supervision at undergraduate level.

The department carries out outstanding research and delivers excellent teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, we ranked 11th in the UK for the quality of our research output. Our staff have also won several teaching awards and our teaching of software engineering was described as ‘Best Practice’ by the British Computer Society.

Specific duties and responsibilities of these posts include: contributing to teaching, assessment, and supervision of student projects; coordinating and delivering laboratory-based teaching in the Department; marking coursework and returning feedback to students; contributing to the development of software applications that support laboratory-based teaching or departmental administration; and contributing to departmental outreach activities, including Open Days, Applicant Visit Days, Taster Days, and participation in festivals.

The successful candidates will hold a bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Holding a postgraduate degree, having experience in delivering software projects as a professional and having experience in entrepreneurship are desirable.

We are both close to Central London and 10 minutes by taxi from Heathrow Airport, and situated in the “M4 corridor”, home to a large number of leading-edge technology companies.
