Job description
We are seeking a 0.8 Senior Quality Officer to be responsible for work in the following areas within Academic Quality and Compliance, including the provision of professional support for and the on-going development of and implementation of processes and systems in support of:
- Course Approval, Monitoring and Review
- Academic Quality and Committee Servicing
The post holder will be expected to take a team based approach to the workload of Academic Quality and Compliance and operate effectively and flexibly to support the delivery of the overall Academic Quality and Compliance service. The successful applicant will manage professional support for academic and partner institution colleagues (both in the UK and overseas) in developing, advising on and implementing procedures and regulations related to academic quality and standards, the development, approval and review of programmes and their delivery within institutional and external regulatory frameworks, and the professional support for university and college committees and other ad hoc meetings.
A good honours degree or equivalent relevant professional experience, as well as experience of quality assurance and/or regulatory procedures, committee servicing and follow-up, establishing effective administrative procedures and systems, course approval, monitoring and review activities and report writing are all essential for this role. The successful applicant should also have experience of building and maintaining relationships with staff at all levels and key external organisations and the ability to juggle a demanding workload.
With the ability to prioritise your own deadlines and for others, the post holder will be expected to work effectively under pressures across a range of projects to ensure that deadlines are met. Self-motivated and resilient with an energetic, positive and proactive approach, the post holder will demonstrate the ability to adjust to unfamiliar situations, demands and unchanging roles.
Applicants will need to take a flexible approach to working hours and may be required to work evenings and weekends occasionally and to undertake activities off campus both in the UK and overseas.

Hours: Part time (29 hours per week - 0.8 FTE)
Basis: Fixed Term Maternity Cover for 12 months or upon the return of the substantive post holder, whichever is sooner
