The University of Bristol is delighted to invite applications for the role of Head of the School of Accounting and Finance within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law.  The new School has been created to give greater visibility and autonomy to these disciplines whilst also promoting collaboration and innovation across the social sciences and beyond.

We are seeking an inspirational individual with a strong commitment to excellence in research and education to develop and lead the School’s strategy in the coming years. The Head of School will play a leading role in the formulation of academic strategy, policy and planning at School and Faculty level, including the setting of priorities in research, teaching and enterprise. Approachable and visible, the new Head will inspire confidence and support to enable decisive leadership across these areas in a period of rapid change for the Faculty, University and HE sector as a whole.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership and management skills and an international reputation based on an extensive track record of high quality research and teaching that complements the School’s main areas of expertise: Accountability, Sustainability and Governance, Banking, Corporate Finance, Financial Markets, Financial Reporting and Management Accounting.
