Job description

We are looking to appoint a Technical Manager who will be responsible for leading our team of skilled and experienced technical staff in the School of Arts and Creative Industries. In this senior role, you will work alongside the Dean and other academic staff to develop strategies around the development of technician provision and how best technology can support and enhance the experience of students. The role is also responsible for Health and Safety provision and risk assessment around the use of creative industry technologies.

The role

You will manage the technical staff and the related facilities, and workshops in order to effectively support students and staff within the School to deliver an excellent student and teaching experience.

You will enable and support CPD and Business engagement throughout the School's facilities.

You will be, responsible for ensuring delivery of a high quality technical service based on national best practice within the sector, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, and, working with the Dean, for leading an internal audit of the School's technical service.

Who we are looking for

Experience should include:

  • Experience in a senior technical role in the creative industries or within Higher Education
  • Experience of leading and managing a team
  • Teamwork and communication
  • Establishing effective Health and Safety processes.
