About the role and you

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences aims to provide globally recognised practical, relevant, and innovative programs, research and industry training. The discipline of Psychology offers programs that prepare students for employment in diverse and complex healthcare environments as the teaching is underpinned by a culture of academic excellence, advanced research, clinical practice and strong community partnerships.

To help to support this aim we require passionate and clinically-experienced staff that will prepare and deliver tutorials classes. We welcome expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to register their interest to teach and/or mark on a casual basis within the School.

Tutorial classes are delivered at both our City and Bundoora campuses Monday to Friday.

The volume, nature and availability of sessional teaching will vary based on the needs of the School including course offerings, timetabling and student demand.

What we need from you:

  • Minimum APAC-Accredited 4-year sequence.
  • Evidence of teaching ability and the capacity to engage students in an enthusiastic, concise, engaging and informative manner;
  • Demonstrable ability to grade student assessment and provide appropriate feedback;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of requisite content, psychological research, and writing skills for course/s taught within Undergraduate Psychology programs;
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including both written and oral communication skills;
  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
