The Role and Your Responsibilities

You will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, particularly in Cinema Studies. You will teach and conduct classes and studios in Cinema Studies and assist in the academic and administrative, consultative and coordination tasks involved with these courses. Functions associated with the position include presentation of lectures and tutorials, assessment of students and course administration in line with the Universitys quality assurance requirements.

More specifically, you will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate and postgraduate programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. In this role, you will also be expected to actively promote the programs by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in tertiary teaching in Cinema Studies. An emerging research track record in Cinema/Media Studies is preferred but not essential.

To be eligible for this role, it is absolutely essential that candidates have performed casual teaching work for an Australian University during the past three years and have not been employed on a continuing basis at an Australian University.

Applicants who have a qualification in a relevant discipline area and have been an active PhD candidate for at least two years should refer to the position description for Associate Lecturer - ECDF. Applicants who have a PhD should refer to the position description for Lecturer - ECDF.

This role will also require satisfactory confirmation of a Working with Children Check.
