The University of the West of Scotland is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that aims to change lives, transform communities and encourage enterprise through outstanding, distinctive and progressive higher education.
Strategic Planning is a small team at the heart of the University, responsible for the development and deployment of business intelligence to inform institutional policy and performance.
We are seeking to appoint a talented, self-motivated and well-organised individual to a newly-created role which will help shape the University’s decision-making through a passion for data quality, and an interest in how universities use their data in decision making. The role will join a growing team focused on analytics across all aspects of the University’s business: learning and teaching, research and enterprise, human and financial resources and marketing. The Data and Analytics Officer – Systems will work with colleagues to identify trends in datasets and will provide constructive guidance and support in enhancing institutional performance.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with excellent data and analytical skills to have a real impact on the University. The Data and Analytics Officer - Systems will lead the team’s work on student evaluation and academic workload planning as system administrator for two systems (EvaSys and Simitive). The post holder will work closely with the Head of Strategic Planning to deliver value from these activities to inform and improve institutional performance and the staff and student experience.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Gavin Lee, Head of Strategic Planning at Gavin.Lee@uws.ac.uk
