UIC, jointly established by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University in 2005, is the first full-scale collaboration between academic institutions from mainland China and Hong Kong. As a liberal arts college, UIC's education encourages a high level of student-faculty interaction and collaboration. UIC is located in the vicinity of Zhuhai; a city which is not only environmental-friendly but also plays a key role in the “Greater Bay Area (GBA)” initiative. Riding on the location, the College endeavors to undertake high quality frontier research in its niche areas which will impact the development of the GBA.

In line with the development of BNU and UIC, the Institute for Mathematical Research invites applications around the globe for the appointment as Chair Professor, Professor, Associate Professor or Visiting Professor.
Successful candidates will be scholars of international stature who can (i) evince intellectual leadership and impact on the field; and (ii) develop sustainable research projects with great potential for significant contributions to the Centre. In addition, they will participate actively in supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates who are elected Chang Jiang Scholars or academicians of prestigious institutes will be prioritized.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years with a possibility to be renewed upon mutual agreement. A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave, housing allowance or arrangement, and medical benefits. Offices will be provided to the appointee at BNU campus (in Zhuhai) and UIC campus, which are in close proximity to each other.
