The Requirements

An earned Doctoral Degree in English Applied Linguistics/Language, with expertise in one (or potentially several) of the following areas: English Composition, Business Communication, Technical Writing (IT), Academic Reading, Literature or other closely related fields.  Candidates should have a record of publications and a significant research agenda in evidence.  Candidates must be qualified and experienced in teaching at undergraduate and master’s levels. Pedagogical expertise with second language learners is a plus. Although not a specific requirement, particular consideration will be given to faculty who have experience in international or bilingual environments.

The Benefits

The University’s benefits package is highly attractive, with competitive salaries free of tax in the U.A.E., a housing allowance, a furniture allowance, annual vacation airline tickets for the employee and immediate family, educational subsidies for children and healthcare provided to the employee and sponsored family members.

In addition to completing the online application form, applicants must also attach a cover letter, a current CV, the names and contact details of three professional referees, a statement of undergraduate teaching philosophy, a statement of scholarly and creative interests, particularly as they may apply to the Middle East, and as to how they might involve undergraduate students.  Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled.

While we appreciate all applications, you will be contacted only if you are selected for an interview.
