The School of Computing Electronics and Mathematics is looking for a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. As such, we are looking for experienced academic staff who can underpin their teaching with research to support the overall vision of the University and help us to improve our growing reputation. The School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics provides innovative undergraduate and postgraduate courses and is home to over two thousand students. It is one of three schools in the Faculty and has a very successful suite of courses supported by excellent staff,teaching facilities and laboratories. The school is responsible for the development of a thriving portfolio of teaching and research. We offer a wide range of undergraduate degrees in Electrical, Electronic and Computer Hardware and Software Engineering as well as Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics and other related courses. Our postgraduate courses cover similar topic areas and in particular we offer MSc degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Embedded Microelectronics and Wireless Systems. Due to the continued growth and success of our undergraduate and postgraduate electrical and electronic engineering teaching and growing research profile we wish to appoint a lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In particular, we require a candidate with a demonstrable background of signal processing, microcontrollers and embedded systems We are looking for a candidate who has extensive experience of developing and delivering teaching content in electrical and electronic engineering & developing practical labs at UG&PG level.
You will be able to contribute to research groups or communities of practice internally, through the Faculty Research Centres, and externally, assisting with bids and tenders for external projects or contracts.You will also be disseminating research outputs using a range of media and develop external networks nationally and/or internationally. Experience with transnational education and/or quality and approval issues surrounding course design would be helpful. With a PhD and appropriate professional qualification and/or membership, you will need to demonstrate teaching experience at higher education level with evidence of successful student learning outcomes.Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, supported by evidence of contribution to appropriate outputs or experience of professional practice/consultancy will be required.
