Centre for Cancer Prevention

The Centre for Cancer Prevention is at the forefront of international research into the prevention and control of cancer. We have particularly active research programmes in breast, endometrial, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancer prevention, cancer screening and statistical methods for clinical trials and epidemiology.

An experienced manager is required to provide overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the CCP, ensuring it runs efficiently and remains in financial balance.

As a member of the CCP executive team, the Centre Manager will have a wide-ranging exposure to many different aspects of research administration including:

  • Financial management
  • Human Resources administration
  • Application and management of research grants
  • Overseeing general office management

You will be required to have significant managerial experience, ideally some of which will be in higher education or the NHS. You will also have experience of strategy and business planning, and will preferably have project management experience. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with a proven ability to use tact and discretion are essential, as is the ability to remain calm whilst managing multiple deadlines.

This is a full time fixed-term contract for 1 year (or a one year secondment for internal candidates), to 31st December 2020. Starting salary will be £47,325 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave and staff pension scheme.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
