Job Description

Postgraduate Education

  • Coordinate policy and handle administrative matters in the area of Postgraduate Education

Work with schools, departments and programmes in the implementation of the recommendations from the BRC-PG

Professional Continuing Education

  • Coordinate policy and handle administrative matters in the area of Professional Continuing Education
  • Work with SMU Academy and SMU Executive Development as well as external agencies including MOE, SSG, CorpPass, etc to ensure smooth administration of collaborations

Student Matters

  • Coordinate policy and handle administrative matters in the area of student matters
  • Work with the Office of Dean of Students to maintain oversight over policies and key decisions on student matters
  • Co-ordinate with Office of Finance, Office of Dean of Students, Registrar’s Office and other stakeholders as appropriate in matters relating to undergraduate fee matters
  • Assist in projects and tasks that are undertaken by the Office of the Provost Collate and analyse data, in areas such as student feedback, global exposure, employment statistics etc., in support of preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports
  • Provide secretariat support in the University Curriculum Committee, Postgraduate Professional Programmes Committee and other Committees as tasked
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders for purposes of strategy formulation, responses to MOE (or other governmental agencies), amongst others Craft internal announcements, emails and presentations originating from the Office of the Provost Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree with at least 5 years of work experience
  • Relevant experience in the tertiary education industry is preferred
  • Demonstrate initiative and exercise sound judgement
  • Good interpersonal and relationship management skills, able to build rapport and trust Highly analytical with data
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Other Information

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
