About the position

Since its first graduation in 2009 the Bond medicine program has grown in size and in recognition for excellence of teaching and of graduate outcomes. The program has strong links with health services in both primary care and public and private hospitals. As part of Bond University’s development as a leading research as well as teaching institution the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine seeks to further develop primary care research in terms of capacity, collaborations and outputs.

This position will have a leading role in developing research in general practice in collaboration with the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare as well as making a key contribution to teaching, coordination and curriculum development in the Bond medical program. They will expand and develop the critical links for research and research capacity in general practice as well as leading further development of the range and quality of clinical placement sites including community-based placements. This role will also be involved with curriculum design, case writing, practicals, tutorials, lectures, web-based resources, clinical teaching and assessment. This position will provide strategic vision, drive and energy to lead the development of this key clinical discipline for Bond Medicine.

About the person:

The successful applicant will be recognised in Australia as a special general practitioner with FRACGP, FACRRM or equivalent and substantial clinical experience in general practice. You will possess a PhD or MD and significant track record in primary care research including success in securing external research funding. The ability to demonstrate experience in research and teaching and establishing external relationships for developing research and teaching capacity in general practice is essential. With outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, this person will have the ability to collaborate and perform effectively within an inter-disciplinary and inter-professional environment.

Remuneration is based on the level of appointment and will be commensurate with skills and experience. Salary packaging arrangements are available.
