Lecturer in Veterinary Education
- Full Time
School of Veterinary Science
The School of Veterinary Science is looking to appoint someone to a new role within our Undergraduate Teaching team. Although this is not a clinical role, we are looking for someone with experience in clinical practice and a passion for teaching. This is a permanent position and has the potential to be a part-time role.
Your time will be split across the following two main areas:
- The delivery of effective, case-based learning in the veterinary integration courses within the BVSc programme. There will be a strong emphasis on demonstrating the importance of pre-clinical subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and infectious diseases to the more clinical subjects that are taught later in the programmee
- The preparation, teaching, assessment and administration of veterinary technology subjects
Experience teaching in an adult education environment is preferred, but not essential as all new staff are expected to undertake further training in teaching and learning. This position would suit someone with a BVSc (or equivalent) or a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology, and at least three to five years clinical experience, preferably in mixed practice as teaching will cover small animals, production animals and equine.
You will teach across both undergraduate veterinary programmes (the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and the Bachelor of Veterinary Technology) and will be based at Massey University's Manawatū campus in Palmerston North so it's an opportunity to relive your student days but on a better budget.
Palmerston North is more than just the wind and the Turbos.
