Overview:

The Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) at Queen Mary University of London specialises in the knowledge and skills in commercial law that can be placed at the service of government, public bodies, overseas institutions, the legal profession, industry and commerce. The Centre for Commercial Law Studies is a leading research centre and hosts the QMUL-UNIDROIT Institute of Transnational Commercial Law (ITCL) with world-leading research in transnational commercial law studies.

The post of the Editorial Assistant sits within the Editorial Team of the Transnational Commercial Law Review (TCLR). The TCLR is an in-house online, peer-reviewed fully open access periodical with a first class editorial board drawing membership from both the UK and abroad. It runs under the auspices of the QMUL-UNIDROIT Institute of Transnational Commercial Law.

The Editorial Assistant is to work closely with and to be accountable to the General Editors of the TCLR. Through the carrying out of copy-editing tasks, the Editorial Assistant will ensure the timely and professional publication of high quality research outputs and will help CCLS and by extension QMUL to deliver their strategic aims in areas of research, knowledge dissemination and impact, reputational development, and internationalisation as well as student recruitment.

Essential skills required include: the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; excellent organisation skills, a methodical approach and strict attention to detail; a good working knowledge of Word and Excel.

The post is a fixed term for 20 months.  Starting salary will be in the range £27,747 to £34,220 pro rata per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, a pension scheme and an interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
