Overview:

William Harvey Research Institute

Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA)
Redox signaling in health and disease

Two Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRAs) positions are available, suitable for applicants with experience in conducting experimental studies into redox signaling and oxidative stress. An interest in the role of oxidants in health and disease would be valuable, but more important is a fundamental understanding of redox processes and how these can be monitored experimentally in vitro or in vivo.

The posts are funded by research grants from the Medical Research Council within Philip Eaton’s research group based at the William Harvey Research Institute in Charterhouse Square. The successful candidate will investigate how oxidants signal and the roles of these processes in the maintenance of health or dysregulation during disease.

The successful candidates will be expected to have a PhD degree in a biological or chemical sciences discipline, with a good track record in publishing their work.

These are full time, fixed-term appointments for 1.5 or 3 years respectively in the first instance, with a starting salary from £38,084 to £41,299 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. The benefits package includes 30 days’ annual leave, a pension scheme and an interest-free season ticket loan.

Informal enquiries for this post should be addressed to Professor Philip Eaton (p.eaton@qmul.ac.uk).
