Applications are invited for appointment as Scientific Officer in Biostatistics in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 499111), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in statistics, mathematics or public health, with at least 8 years' post-doctoral experience in providing big data analytics and research advisory to research studies in infectious disease epidemiology.  Proven track record in carrying out advanced statistical analyses and in advising on big data science methodology are essential.  The appointee will play a key role in developing advanced analytics and predictive modelling in our public health research projects, and in providing biostatistical advice to researchers in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.  He/She will also provide technical and scientific leadership and supervise the research team concerned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
