Job description

We are seeking candidates of outstanding quality to support research activity in the £30m expansion of engineering provision at the University of Central Lancashire. All candidates must have a PhD, post doctorial experience, a strong publication record, excellent communication skills and demonstrate enthusiasm for the subject of engineering.

Successful candidates will have developed a profile of published output which demonstrates significant knowledge and subject leadership in a field relevant to at least one topic of existing research activity within the School. They will also be able to demonstrate the capacity to work with staff in the school to quickly establish a programme of research related to this knowledge to extend the existing research profile.

The role will involve working with academic research staff, Post-Doctoral staff and Research Students to broaden and extend research capacity within the School of Engineering. This could include contributions to some or all of the following: increasing the volume of research publication output, external grant capture, increasing engagement with industry, supporting PhD students and contributions to the research environment. A willingness to support developing research programmes is also expected.
