About the position

Reporting to the Information Security Manager, this position will be responsible for helping to safeguard the University's computer networks and systems and help optimise the security posture of the university by planning and executing security measures to monitor and protect our sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks.

The incumbent will also be responsible for educating the workforce and student body on information security through delivery of awareness sessions and training. In addition, the role will also maintain active contribution to industry groups including the QUDIT cyber security community of practice, and lead incident response activities for any security breaches to minimise the impact on the University.

About the person:

The successful candidate will have a degree in Information Technology and/or relevant experience in a similar position. Significant skills with at least 4 years’ experience and expertise across a variety of security products including multi-factor authentication, firewalls, log aggregation and email content filtering is required for this role.

If you have an outstanding ability to perform technical and forensic investigations, have experience conducting simulated phishing campaigns and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, you will be successful in this role.

The salary for this position will commence at $99 964 inclusive of 9.5% superannuation per annum - negotiable based on experience and skills.
