Strategic Marketing and Communications Unit is currently seeking a full-time Media and Public Relations Officer for a permanent appointment. The Unit is responsible for managing the University brand and reputation, developing and implementing university-wide communications to position the University and to support the delivery of initiatives which meet the objectives of the University’s Strategic Plan.

The Media and Public Relations Officer will be responsible for implementing of university-wide communications activities including handling media enquiries, media engagement and creating and distributing content for media campaigns, corporate publications, websites and social media channels – all of which contribute to positioning the University as a leader in research and teaching.

Taking direction from the Senior Manager, Media and Public Relations, the successful person will work across the organisation liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including media, to ensure communications activities have the desired impact.

The unit is seeking a media and PR communications specialist with effective time management skills; strong initiative; a positive attitude; excellent communication skills; demonstrated ability working in a team environment; the ability to influence others and the ability to maintain confidentiality with well-developed qualities of tact, discretion and people skills.
