The School of Psychological Science is looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic individual to provide high quality subject level and specialist technical support to staff and students undertaking detailed scientific testing within the School, including our suite of Psychology labs.

The Schools facilities focus on providing students and staff with a wide range of practical resources for scientific testing in a wide variety of research areas. These include:

Bristol Vision Institute Movement Lab Bio-psychological recording equipment for the collection of physiological and psychological data (i.e. EEG, eye trackers etc) Bristol Cognitive Development Centre with observational facilities Computer labs with experimental software and integrated testing facilities Facilities to research physical and biological factors underlying health conditions  

Working closely with Academic staff, the postholder will provide technical support for research projects, research methods training, and purchasing of new equipment and development of facilities. In addition, they will support development and effective use of a wide range of equipment associated with psychological research. 

The postholder will be expected to have good understanding of psychophysiological equipment, observation and recording systems and will have demonstrable ability to provide specialist advice and assistance to students and staff.  You should have good knowledge of a range of specialist software such (e.g. SPSS, Matlab, R, PsychoPy).

This role provides an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to broaden their knowledge, understanding and experience of technical aspects of psychological science, in a world-class research environment.
