Full/Assistant/Associate Professor, School of Environment and Sustainability (JSES)

The Jindal School of Environment and Sustainability (JSES), the ninth school of JGU, will start its first academic session in August 2021 and is committed to promote excellence in teaching, research and capacity building in the study of environment in all its forms and manifestations.

Jindal School of Environment and Sustainability (JSES) invites applications for the positions of Professor/Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor from professionals with a strong background in environmental studies with teaching and research interests spanning different environmental issues in South-East Asia including, but not limited to environmental management, environmental policy and regulations, natural resources management, environmental ethics, environmental justice, climate change, environmental health, ecology and conservation.

It will offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes beginning Fall 2021 but candidates willing to join us in Fall 2020 should apply.

Position Description:

Responsibilities include teaching assigned core and concentration courses, pursuing research and scholarship, and community engagement. Proven record of scholarship (associate level) or its potential (assistant level) in the form of research, publications, extramural funding, and presentations to national and international audiences are desired. The person should have demonstrated excellence in producing high quality research publishable at high impact factor journals. He/she should be willing to collaborate with people within and outside JGU to promote environmental studies.

Desired Qualification:

The applicant should have a Ph.D. from a UGC approved (or equivalent foreign) university.  He/she should have substantial experience in teaching environmental studies at the undergraduate level. He/she should have an interest in working to promote diversity and inclusion in different environmental disciplines and also have a strong dedication to teaching and research.
