The Academic Skills team at Edinburgh Napier University is a small group of advisers dedicated to helping students understand and adjust to the particular expectations of university-level study. Advice and guidance is provided to support students to develop as effective, independent learners, to achieve their potential and be successful in their studies.

The role

You will contribute to the work of the Academic Skills team which is responsible for providing coherent academic skills and learning development through the provision of workshops and one-to-one advice and guidance.

As an active member of the team, you will work with colleagues across the University to support Edinburgh Napier University's strategic objectives through the provision of a broad range of academic skills and learning development sessions.

Who we are looking for

We are now looking to recruit to a bank of casual advisers who help meet increased demand at certain times of the academic year.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience of working with students in the Further or Higher Education sector
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering guidance and academic support to individuals or groups
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work within a team.
  • Experience of IT, proficiency in Microsoft packages​

Salary: GBP 17.41 per hour (Grade 5)
