Pro Vice Chancellor, Education and Digital

Following the recent appointment of our new Vice-Chancellor – Professor Nick Braisby, and our new Deputy Vice Chancellor – Professor Gavin Brooks, the University now seek to appoint a Pro Vice Chancellor, Education and Digital. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and working closely with the University Executive Team, the successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of the University’s Education and Digital strategies.

This is an exciting time to join the University, as we launch our new University Strategy – Impact 2022 – and our revised values. Our recently completed Transformation Programme has delivered improvements to the University’s financial sustainability, agility and responsiveness. We have improved student retention and buoyed our student recruitment through a vigorous programme of portfolio growth, including apprenticeship programmes. In addition, we have delivered strong educational outcomes, including TEF Silver and a consistently high performance in the NSS. As a result, we are well-positioned to develop a distinctive and innovative educational offer that resonates with the University’s historical mission and develops a transformative culture where innovation, creativity and enterprise flourish.

We are looking for an ambitious leader who can lead on the development and implementation of an educational strategy that is attuned to the needs of the future workforce. They will be responsible for the development of the University’s strategic approach to digital, including online and technology enhanced learning, ensuring this delivers the highest levels of student experience and outcomes. The Pro Vice Chancellor will champion the highest standards in academic quality, excellence in teaching, and sustainability, whilst ensuring the development of innovative pedagogic practice and cutting-edge use of digital technologies. The successful candidate will bring academic credibility, experience of developments in digital technologies, and a track record of academic leadership to enable them to play a leading role across the University.
