1FTE, Fixed Term 31/12/2020

Coventry University is seeking an academic for the role of Research Fellow to join the Research Centre for Intelligent Healthcare and, specifically, it's Prototype Design, Testing and Regulation theme. In line with the theme's primary research, we welcome applications from early career researchers striving to develop research careers in the fields of digital healthcare. The Centre aims to become a globally recognised research centre for pioneering and opinion-setting research in the area of digital healthcare and its contribution to improving communities and enriching and prolonging individual lives.

Our Centre is further strengthened by our links with companies, hospitals and public health bodies through our Advisory Board, Honorary Research Fellows and Associates. We also have a growing team of PhD students who contribute to a thriving research environment.  The multidisciplinary vision and team is evidenced through our three core themes within the Centre: Behaviour & Implementation Science, Epidemiology and Prototype Design, Testing & Regulation.

Applications are invited for a full-time post-doctoral research fellow position to work with Professor Dingchang Zheng at the Centre for Intelligent Healthcare. The candidate will work collaboratively with national and international colleagues to develop computer models and innovative medical solutions to understand and predict pretermdelivery. This role will involve a variety of work in advanced physiological signal processing (including machine learning), computer modelling of physiological systems and statistics analysis for medical applications. The candidate will also be responsible administering the data management and will be asked to attend project meetings and contribute to writing conference and journal papers.

We are looking for a highly motivated person who has a strong interest in innovative healthcare technology development. He/she should possess a PhD degree or an equivalent qualification in biomedical engineering or computer science, or equivalent. The applicant should have excellent research skills and capabilities in digital signal processing and computational modelling. The applicant should have a broad understanding of gynaecology and the ability to identify promising directions for new research. Applicants should also have the ability to work independently and be able to work on flexible basis.

If you are interested in the position and wish to know more, please contact Professor Richard Aspinall ac8908@coventry.ac.uk This is a fixed term full-time post and we are looking to fill the position as soon as possible. It is expected that interviews will take place in November.
