Overview:

Applications are sought for a Technician in the Barts Cancer Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London and will be based in the Institute’s state-of-the-art laboratories at Charterhouse Square.

The appointee will be expected To provide technical support to the project entitled “Dissecting the role of supernumerary centrosomes-induced exosome secretion in PDAC microenvironment” to enable members of the Godinho Laboratory to efficiently carry out their research projects. The appointee is also expected to work as part of the project “Dissecting the role of supernumerary centrosomes-induced exosome secretion in PDAC microe nvironment” as part of the Godinho laboratory, being mutually supportive and covering duties as necessary during colleagues’ absences and at times of additional pressure.

Essential requirements for this post include previous laboratory experience including ability to carry out routine and repetitive tasks and using databases and spreadsheets. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and good organizational skills also essential.

The post is full time and for 2 years.  Starting salary will be £25,048 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.

The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
