About the Job

As a strategic priority, Swinburne University of Technology is investing in recruiting postdoctoral researchers. An opportunity has arisen for post-doctoral researcher within the field of public health with a strong quantitative, (bio)statistical, and/or epidemiological background to undertake research design and analysis of diverse data sets (domestic and international), including data from the Australian National Health Survey. This position is advertised for one year with potential extension for three years; the commencement salary is A$ 96K per annum, depending on qualifications.

The postdoctoral researcher will drive research innovation, attract research funding and translate research outputs both domestically and internationally. The researcher will obtain nationally competitive grants and contribute to the development of trans-discipline, collaborative research projects between Swinburne University and local, regional and international universities, health services and governments and across national borders.

You will work under the direction of Distinguished Professor Osborne, a NHMRC Principal Research Fellow, Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher and collaborations with that reach across over 30 countries.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Familiarity with multivariate analysis and techniques, application of modern platforms (e.g. R, STATA) and psychometric evaluation (e.g., MPlus)
  • Experience coordinating and managing projects
  • Expertise in areas such as clinical sciences, community development and public health
  • Demonstrated dedication and commitment to collaborative multidisciplinary research
