Goldsmiths, University of London
Dean of Students
Competitive remuneration
Goldsmiths, University of London, is one of the world’s most creative and progressive institutions with academic strengths in the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. Our mission is to offer a transformative education experience, generating knowledge and stimulating self-discovery through creative and intellectually rigorous thinking and practice. Our lively community of 10,000 students and 1,200 staff is drawn from across the globe to form a diverse and multicultural population, learning and working together on a vibrant and eclectic single site campus in South East London.
The Dean of Students is a new cross-institutional role, created to provide strategic vision, academic leadership and co-ordination of activities supporting our students’ academic experience. Reporting to the Deputy Warden and working in collaboration with the Academic Registrar and Director of Student Experience, Students’ Union Sabbatical Officers and staff and academic departments, the Dean of Students will support our endeavours to deliver a high quality and consistent academic experience for all students, improving student academic outcomes and well-being.
You will be an experienced academic manager with a significant track record of delivering enhancements to the academic student experience. You will bring a deep understanding of the UK higher education landscape, in particular those issues that impact upon the student journey. A persuasive communicator with the ability to build trust with academic leaders, students and professional services colleagues, you will be adept at working through negotiation and influence. You’ll also share our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and will possess exemplary judgement, energy and resilience.
